Blind Faith
Blind Faith is an ongoing photographic project documenting life in Sloviansk, a frontline city in Ukraine’s Donbas, and the small community of blind and visually impaired people who continue to call it home.
Located close to the active frontline, Sloviansk lives under the constant threat of Russian missiles, drones and aerial attacks. For those without sight, the war is experienced through sound, vibration and memory—the drone overhead, the warning siren, or the impact of an explosion.
The project explores how war is experienced when its visual landscape cannot be seen, while documenting the daily lives of those who have chosen to remain.
